Today’s reading touches on something faithful people have often grappled with. Why do we find ourselves in the middle, between God’s promise and its fulfillment? On the contrary, why do people who don’t trust in God seem to enjoy better circumstances than the faithful, at least in the moment?

And that is the key, it is just the moment. God is going to come through for those who trust in him. 

No matter how great a person becomes in this world, everything here comes to an end. No amount of wealth or success can be carried from this world into what is next. 

Yet, God has a wonderful future ahead for those who live for him. “The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.”
